Americans for Prosperity: “If You Think Taxes Are High Now, Just Wait Until Congress Tries to ‘Fix’ Global Warming”

WASHINGTON – As millions of American taxpayers face this year’s looming tax filing deadline, the free-market grassroots group Americans for Prosperity today warned that families stand to take a huge hit if proposed so-called “global warming solutions” are implemented – without having any significant impact on global temperatures.

“With energy prices skyrocketing and the economy teetering on the verge of a significant recession, it’s ridiculous that Congress would even consider higher carbon taxes, higher gasoline taxes, the repeal of the home mortgage interest deduction for larger homes and all kinds of other economy- and job-killing ideas that would have almost no impact on global temperatures,” said Americans for Prosperity Policy Director Phil Kerpen. “That’s why we’re launching a nationwide Hot Air Tour next week to expose the ballooning cost of climate alarmism.”

Cap and trade is a massive job-killer.
The hundreds of billions of dollars of economic activity destroyed by the cap-and-trade tax scheme translate into millions of lost jobs for American workers.

Will we have signs?

“Down with Global warming legislation!”

Probably not.

Will we have a cool chant.

“One two three four, what are we fighting for?”

“Global COOLING!”

Probably not.

On the trip down we watched "The great Global Warming swindle"

These effects will ripple through the economy. Food prices have been especially hard hit, with milk prices up 20% in the last year alone

Yet, unlike when the left protests, We were organized, polite and calm.

The main thing we learned was that "Cap and Trade policy"
is nothing more than a massive TAX increase!

Several hundred people gathered on Capitol Hill this Monday at an event sponsored by Americans for Prosperity or AFP. It was for those who harbor any doubts that the global warming scare is fact.

"There clearly is not a scientific consensus," Event organizer AFP's Annie Patnaude told CBN News,
